The Contact North Training Delivery System

Implemented as a training delivery system for building code courses in 1993 by the Architectural Technology department at Northern College, Contact North has become a major means of delivering OBC training to the North.  This audio-conferencing system uses computers linked together through telephone lines and allows computer images to be displayed and diagrams to be drawn while discussions on course material take place. The Contact North learner will be able to register at Northern College and complete the entire program over Contact North.

Northern College Building Inspection Technician Program

This post-secondary diploma program has been developed specifically for those individuals interested in building inspection or in updating specific code competencies. The Building Inspection Technician Program is a two-year program that includes academic, technical, and code skills.

The Building Inspection Technician program will be delivered through the internet using the Blackboard platform, as well as being offered on site at the Northern College, Porcupine Campus.
