BUILDING CODE ACT, 1992

RULING OF THE MINISTER OF MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS AND HOUSING

No. 99-BC-01

Pursuant to s.29(1)(b) of the Building Code Act, 1992, as amended, the Director of the Housing Development and Buildings Branch as delegate of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing hereby adopts the following amendments to codes, standards, guidelines, protocols or procedures that have been adopted by reference in the Building Code:

1. Description of codes, standards, guidelines, protocols or procedures that have been adopted by reference in the Building Code:

The standards described in Table 2.6.3.2. of the Building Code and listed in Columns 1 to 3 of the Table to this Ruling.

2. Amendments of the codes, standards, guidelines, protocols or procedures that are adopted in this Ruling:

The amended standards listed in Columns 4 and 5 of of the Table to this Ruling corresponding to the standards listed in Columns 1 to 3 of the Table to this Ruling.

3. Effective Date and Condition

This Ruling takes effect on the 24th day of December, 1999.

This Ruling is subject to the condition that the Ruling does not apply to construction:

(a) for which a permit under section 8 of the Building Code Act, 1992 has been issued before the 24th day of December, 1999, or

(b) for which the working drawings, plans and specifications utilise the codes, standards, guidelines, protocols or procedures described in Columns 1 to 3 of this Ruling and are substantially completed before the 24th day of December, 1999, and for which an application for a permit under section 8 of the Building Code Act, 1992 in respect of these working drawings, plans and specifications is made before the 24th day of March, 2000,

where the construction is commenced within six months after the permit is issued.
