OBOA/MAH Memorandum of Understanding on a Process to Develop and Consult on a Potential Self-management System

The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a process to develop and consult on a potential self-management system for building officials.

Under the MOU, Ministry staff and the OBOA will jointly identify policy and operational elements of a potential self-management system that could lead to proposed "right to practice" legislation.
The Ministry and OBOA will consult with stakeholders from the municipal, design and building sectors, as well as the public.  The OBOA and MAH staff will then jointly submit a report to the Minister, including system elements, the results of the consultation, and financial considerations.

The MOU can be downloaded at the following link.
